The history of the department
The Department of Economics and Management was organized in September 1993. Candidate of Economic Sciences Yuvitsa Nikolay Vladimirovich was the first Head of the Department. After him the Department of Economics and Management was headed by the Candidate of Economic Sciences, Professor Baizhomartov Uketai Serikbaevich. He headed this department for 20 years, from December 1995 to November 2015. The department organized training of students majoring in “Economics and Management”.
In the following years, the department trained students in “Finance and Credit” (since 1996), and in “International Economic Relations” and “Accounting and Audit” (since 1997).
“Economic Theory” department was separated from the department in 1997.
The department was renamed to “Micro and Macroeconomics”, within which the department “Management” was separated in 1999.
Since January 2000 the department has continued its activity under the name “Management and Entrepreneurship”, and in September 2009 it was renamed again into the Department “Economics and Management”.
The Department of Economics and Management is the fundamental department of the Faculty of Economics and Law. The department implements training of bachelors and masters in the following specialties:

Doctoral program

Training of students is carried out by the teaching staff of the Department:
- 4 – PhD
- 1 – Candidates of economic sciences.
- 12 – Master degree.
The teaching staff improves qualitatively, the teachers take the courses of advanced training every year. Over the past period, the department has been strengthened organizationally, the corresponding material and technical base for the training of highly qualified personnel has been created.
The teaching staff participates in the research and educational works along with the educational process.
The best methodical project – 2020
23.01.2020 Тhe final stage of the contest «Methodical Projects – 2020» took place at Zhubanov University. 11 projects of university teachers participated in the competition.
The project participants introduced their colleagues to the methods which they use in their disciplines, and shared their experiences. Participants defended their project «The using of press conference lecture and the briefing method in dual education» by submitting presentations.
According to the results of the competition, the senior teachers of the Department of Economics and Management Ibrasheva Almagul and Shynar Nurgalieva were awarded the III -place.
